Tickets are on sale now for Columbia Festival of the Arts' 2015 Summer Festival (6/12 - 6/27), featuring an array ticketed and free events including concert and theatre performances, film, comedy, and visual arts activities.

The Festival kicks off with Free Opening Weekend on the Lakefront (6/12-6/14): a weekend of live music, visual and wearable art, and outdoor fun for the whole family in Columbia Town Center. Continuing through June 27, highlights include multiple Grammy-winning legends of gospel and blues Blind Boys of Alabama (6/19), Sundance Film Festival's short films on tour (6/21), and Baltimore's The Stoop Storytelling Series (6/26). The 2015 Summer Festival concludes with The Best of The Second City, a performance by the legendary sketch and improv group of comedy's best and brightest.

"This Summer Festival will be the last of its kind; this Fall, we will move entirely to weekend-length Festivals and the old 16-day model will be gone," says Todd Olson, Executive Director of the multi-disciplinary arts festival now in its 28th season. "For 27 years CFA has been a Summer Lakefront fixture; now we will never go away, and produce unforgettable and diverse arts Festivals year-round." And don't worry, the Summer Festival next year will still include free events at the Lakefront, Olson assures.

The Cross Currents 2015 Summer Festival runs June 12 through 27, and offers a blend of contemporary artists filled with electrifying performances and fascinating hybrids like global sensation Pilobolus, fusing modern dance theatre and acrobatics, and Hot Club of San Francisco, celebrating imagination with vintage silent film and live Gypsy swing.
