Celebrate(?) this inaugural month with the Vagabond Players' production of The Complete History of America (Abridged), opening on January 6 and running through February 5. Written by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor, and directed by Howard Berkowitz, this faced-paced comedic look at America's history might be just what you need to start the New Year with a whole new perspective.

The cast of three rambunctious actors, Fred Fletcher-Jackson, Sean Kelly, and William B. Meister, covers 600 years of U.S. history in 6,000 seconds. The 30+ characters they create are both historical and hysterical. It is the perfect explanation for any questions you might have about how this great nation got to be where we are today.

Tickets for The Complete History of America (Abridged) are $10-20, and are available on line at http://vagabondplayers.org/. Performances are at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2pm on Sundays. There is a special Thursdays on Broadway! performance on February 2; tickets for this performance are just $10.

Our popular 3- and 4-show Mini-Subscriptions are again available, with tickets priced as low at $15, and no limitations on performances. See The Complete History of America (Abridged) and the rest of our 101st Season for just $60. Or, pick any three of our remaining shows for just $48.

Free Staged Reading, January 12

Please join us on Thursday, January 12 at 7:30pm at the Vagabond Theatre for a reading of The Pope's Doctor by Dramatists Guild member Robin Cuddy; Steve Goldklang directs.

Stephen Flaherty, an American doctor who runs a clinic for children and adolescents in Haiti, has come to New York City for a much needed rest. Soon after arriving at his cousin's apartment in Chelsea, he has a blackout and becomes increasingly distraught that "something evil" is stalking him.

The free event is open to Dramatists Guild members and non-members. Free street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood; please plan to arrive early to ensure you find parking. A talk-back with the playwright will follow the reading.
