Tap dancing is an art that has endured through the enthusiasm and creativity of its performers. New Jersey Tap Fest's main stage event, 'Tap 'N Time,' was performed at the Westminster Arts Center at Bloomfield College on Saturday night. The two act show delighted the audience with a wide variety of tap dance styles and an incredible slate of talent.

Otello was presented by the Eastern Opera of New Jersey at the Brook Theater in Bound Brook on Friday, August 16th through Sunday, August 18th. The opera had the excellent accompaniment of the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey. The performance, directed by Karole Lewis, was beautifully staged and a complete pleasure for the audience. The simple set, also designed by Lewis, was well utilized, versatile and served as an excellent backdrop for the opera.

'Saving Kitty,' a comedy by Marisa Smith opened at the New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch on Saturday, July 27th and the audience enjoyed every minute of it. Smith has succeeded in writing a play that is completely entertaining and truly thought provoking. Drawing on her personal experience, Smith's writing examines behaviors that are commonly associated with the right and the left and calls them into question.

The Apollo Theater had a 'Soul Night' event for one of their weekly Wednesday Amateur Nights and the audience was enthusiastic about the talented performers.
