Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director)'s world premiere adaptation of THE NEW YORK IDEA by Tony Award® winner David Auburn, opened last night. Directed by Mark Brokaw, the new adaptation of the 1906 comedy by Langdon Mitchell commissioned by Atlantic, will play through Saturday, February 26 after announcing an extension at The Lucille Lortel Theatre while Atlantic's Linda Gross Theater undergoes renovation. The show was a sold out hit at this year's Under The Radar Festival. All proceeds from the evening benefit the Belarus Free Theater who is facing persecution in their homeland and barely escaped prison to travel to New York to perform this powerful piece of political theater
