Some people remember back when a mid-week matinee was a special and affordable treat. Now the producers of the St Petersburg Ballet Theatre's Australian tour, Andrew Guild and Simon Bryce, are bringing back the event that used to see a mid-week day in the theatre packed to the rafters.

ALL A Reserve seats to the new 11am matinee of Swan Lake on Wednesday June 24 will be priced at an amazingly low $59*. No concession cards, seniors cards or student cards will be required. The price of $59* plus fees applies to ALL A Reserve seats - and there are 1,500 of them.

This is not a fire sale. It's an offer on a new performance.

Tickets for the additional matinee show at 11am on Wednesday, June 24 will go on sale at 9am on Monday May 4 2015, through Ticketmaster.

The St Petersburg Ballet Theatre is renowned globally not just for its beautiful Vaganova trained dancers but also for its stunning, grand, full-length productions. When the company travels internationally they take the breathtaking scenery and magnificent costumes they are famous for with them.

"The Melbourne season has been an enormous success for us" said Andrew Guild. "We have already needed to add extra evening performances and when the opportunity came up to squeeze in a Wednesday matinee, we decide to create an opportunity for the many people who just can't, or won't, go out at night and those that are budget conscious. The amazing A Reserve price is available to everyone and that it includes seniors, schools, students, parents on a day out and shift workers."

The timing of the new matinee show will allow audience members to leave home after peak hour, enjoy at late lunch and return home before the afternoon rush.
