TWISTED BROADWAY is coming back in 2017 bigger, better and more twisted than ever at the spectacular Regent Theatre on Monday 2nd October. Tickets go on sale Wednesday 26th July from Ticketmaster.

Featuring a stunning lineup of some of Australia's most beloved Television and Musical Theatre stars, singing songs originally written for the opposite gender, TWISTED BROADWAY is the thrilling one-night-only charity concert in support of the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC) & Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Rob Mills, one of Australia's most versatile performers, has forged a very successful career within the musical theatre world and himself has participated and hosted the event in previous years.

He said "TWISTED BROADWAY is truly one of the most creative and fun nights to be involved in on stage but also as an audience member. The performances are always incredible and unique to this event so it really is a one night only experience. A great night out and for a worthy cause, buy a ticket now and come join us!"

From its humble beginnings at Red Bennies in 2010, this year TWISTED BROADWAY will take over the glorious Regent Theatre for the very first time and promises a one-off night of show-stopping, gender-bending entertainment with hosts and performers to be announced shortly.

TWISTED BROADWAY (based on the Broadway Cares fundraiser, Broadway Backwards) was first staged 7 years ago and has since grown to a major event in Australia's Musical Theatre calendar. The charity event has so far raised over $110,000 for those living with and touched by HIV/AIDS and has engaged over 300 artists, crew, designers, venue staff and administrators within the performing arts industry.

TWISTED BROADWAY is a proud supporter of the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC) & Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. VAC leads the fight against HIV in Victoria by providing care and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV), health promotion, and advocacy. VAC continues to lead the response by providing a range of services which include prevention education, treatment and care of PLHIV and counselling services.

Kate Macdonald producer of TWISTED BROADWAY said, "Each year, there is a considerable number of new HIV diagnoses. We have come a long way through education and awareness, but this chronic manageable illness is an important and very real issue for thousands of Australians today."

"I am humbled by the passion of both audiences and performers alike for such a significant and monumental cause, this event is a marvellous example of our community coming together through music to support - and celebrate - those of us in need." she continued.

Director of the event since 2013, Chris Parker said "My focus with TWISTED BROADWAY this year is on community. What always strikes me backstage at the end of the performance is how strong, loving and supportive our community of performers are here in Melbourne, and this event has become such a joyful platform for creatives to come together and make something thrilling. To this day some of the most incredible performances I have ever seen, were witnessed on the Twisted Broadway stage."

Contributing Choreographers this year include Leah Howard, Yvette Lee, Michael Ralph and Amy Campbell. More incredible creatives and artists will be announced shortly.

The Gordon Frost Organisation have kindly donated the use of the Regent Theatre for this year's concert which is to be staged on the set of Michael Harrison, David Ian and John Frost's production of The Bodyguard.

You will not find another event that brings together such an eclectic mix of Aussie talent on the one stage! If you love Musical Theatre, this is one night you simply cannot miss!
