It is a case of "no rest for the wicked" for both casts of Melbourne Theatre Company's two comedies of manners this Labour Day Long Weekend.
Much-loved musical theatre star Lucy Durack will tread the boards all weekend in the final performances of Noël Coward's effervescent comedy Private Lives before she dons her Queen of Moomba Crown for Monday's Moomba Parade. Widely acclaimed for her performance in Coward's sparklingly witty and wickedly vicious marital farce, Lucy Durack will take her final bows with Leon Ford, Nadine Garner, John Leary and Julie Forsyth after a sold-out season-ending weekend of performances at the Sumner, Southbank Theatre.
Meanwhile, at Arts Centre Melbourne's Fairfax Studio, the love-struck trio of the much-talked about c*ck- played by Tom Conroy, Angus Grant and Sophie Ross along with Tony Rickards - continue their torment among the pillows without respite over the weekend as they battle it out to stake a claim on each other's hearts in this cheekily titled contemporary comedy of manners.
