On Wednesday 16 May, the Lyrebird Restaurant at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) will present a master class style dinner featuring Australia's most decorated sparkling winemaker, House of Arras. This is the next event in The Art of Wine Dinner Series at QPAC.

House of Arras has received more than 100 trophies, including 21 consecutive "Best Sparkling White Wine of Show" wins at Australian capital city wine shows.

For more than a decade, the House of Arras team has been identifying and developing the ideal vineyard sites for world class sparkling wine. This journey has led the House of Arras to call the ancient soils and cold climate of Tasmania home.

With a climate that is significantly cooler than the mainland, long summer daylight and maritime influences, the Tasmanian climate provides ideal conditions for long, slow and consistent fruit development. The House of Arras sources fruit from many outstanding vineyards in southern and the south east coast of Tasmania. Each location bestows its own nuances of character on chardonnay and pinot noir fruit.

The evening's menu has been specially designed for this event by QPAC Executive Chef Anthony Fullerton and Lyrebird Chef Jamie Pearce.

QPAC's Director of Patron Services Tony Smith welcomes lovers of fine food and wine to enjoy the hand-selected vintages of House of Arras sparkling wines that have been matched perfectly with a menu created from the best of Tasmanian produce.

"This evening will offer you the chance to personally meet House of Arras' winemaker, Ed Carr, who most recently was awarded Winemaker of the Year at the prestigious Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine awards," said Mr Smith.

All bookings for the House of Arras Art of Wine Dinner go in the draw to win two tickets to JERSEY BOYS -The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons at QPAC. Tickets will be drawn on the night. To book a place at the table at QPAC's House of Arras dinner go to www.qpac.com.au/artofwine or phone 136 246.
