Malthouse Theatre & Chunky Move present 247 DAYS at the Merlyn Theatre, Malthouse, 15 March - 23 March 2013.

How do we view the world? How does the world view us? Chunky Move strips back the layers to explore human dynamics in a shifting Australian landscape with the world premiere of 247 Days at the Malthouse Theatre in March 2013.

Following the critically acclaimed An Act of Now, voted The Age Critics Award for best new Australian work at the 2012 Melbourne Festival, 247 Days continues Chunky Move Artistic Director Anouk van Dijk's intimate and forensic exploration of the dynamics of human interaction. Do we behave as expected, or accept who we truly are? And, if we could observe ourselves in an unguarded moment, what would we see?

Recombining forces with composer, Marcel Wierckx and lighting designer, Niklas Pajanti, 247 Days also reunites the sublimely physical An Act of Now dancers, Leif Helland, Lauren Langlois, Alya Manzart, Niharika Senapati, and James Pham, with the addition of Helpmann-nominated dancer, Tara Soh. Rounding out the creative team will be set designer, Michael Hankin and costume designer, Shio Otani.

Produced in conjunction with Malthouse Theatre and as part of the 2013 Dance Massive Festival, van Dijk will transport her vigorous physical language to the Merlyn Theatre, presenting not only the dancers, but also the audience, with an experience that is exposing and revelatory - a dance work not to be missed.

Chunky Move is Victoria's flagship contemporary dance company and one of the most innovative nationally. The Company seeks to redefine what is or what can be contemporary dance within an ever-evolving Australian culture through work both diverse in form and content.
