QV Outdoor Cinema is celebrating Chinese New Year in style with screenings of two popular Chinese movies, the action blockbuster Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on Saturday 28 January and the Asian hit romance In The Mood for Love on Sunday 29 January. Award winning paint-on-glass artist and Melbourne-based Chinese filmmaker Xin Li, will showcase some of his beautiful and animated short films before both of the main feature presentations.
Audiences will receive to-your-deckchair food and beverage service, with a complimentary 'Red Lychee Fresca' cocktail for each guest from Father's Office on Saturday 28 January and hand-delivered Chinese food from Red Spice QV on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January, as part of QV's 'Red Class' cinema experience. QV Cinema runs Thursday-Sunday nights throughout summer. Tickets are on sale now via qvcinema.com.au. Daytime shoppers on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January can visit a Chinese calligrapher and receive their name and a Happy New Year message written in one of the world's most celebrated fonts. Just spend $20 or more at any of QV Melbourne's stores and visit the calligrapher in QV's Albert Coates Lane between 11:00am-2:00pm, with a copy of your receipt. QV Melbourne will transform into a Chinese festival at lunchtime on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 January with a traditional Chinese Lion Dancing Parade commencing at 1:00pm. Customers can also get their photo taken with the Chinese lions, dancers and musicians after the parade.Videos
