Get your swing shoes on and travel back to the 1940's for Adelaide Festival Centre's big band themed Christmas Proms at Her Majesty's Theatre from 13 – 16 December. Swing the night away with Adelaide's own musical darling, Johanna Allen and rock 'n roll soul man, Andy Seymour as Timothy Sexton and the Adelaide Art Orchestra present classic Christmas carols with a jazzy big band flair.

Johanna Allen knows how to fill a room with excitement – she has done it countless times before throughout her extensive career as one of Australia's most versatile performers in musical theatre, opera, film and television. She has performed in acclaimed productions such as Amadeus, The Crucible and Sweeney Todd in New York; Wicked, The Pirates of Penzance and Guys and Dolls in Australia; not to mention her television roles in McLeod's Daughters, Rewind and The Front Bar. Most recently, she wowed us with her sold-out solo show, Mixtape, at the 2012 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Not only were the 30's known for big band music, they were also the decade that birthed Andy Seymour's idol. Recognised for his leading role in The Gospel According to Elvis, it comes as no surprise that Andy is the King's number one fan. The stage has also seen him perform in The Big Bopper and Buddy & The Bopper. As for his career on the small screen, he has hosted his own television show in the US as a singing chef and has played various characters in children's programs for the ABC. Sporting an array of glowing recommendations from all over America and Australia, Andy is a live performer known for his effortless ability to entertain an audience.

Returning for another year to bring in the festive season is Adelaide's very own big band, the Adelaide Art Orchestra, conducted by Timothy Sexton. Adding to the evening's entertainment is none other than Santa Claus himself! And who better to help him spread the Christmas cheer than the beloved clowns, Moose and Boppa. Bring your family and share the joy of the Christmas season.
