Local author, Ed Hilow of Worcester, debuts his first fantasy novella "Dark Druid Rising." The book is the first in his Keltica series and brings to life Celtic mythology as one man explores the purpose of his existence and the fate of an entire world.

Set in Worcester, Massachusetts, "Dark Druid Rising" is the story of Faris McHugh, a man stuck in his own predictable and mundane existence. A birthday gift from his aunt arrives and his life is turned upside when he is plagued by nightmares. An accident puts him in the hospital under the care of a psychiatrist, where he's forced to face his fears. As Faris explores the vivid dreams his orderly world unravels when he becomes trapped in Otherworld - a place in his imagination - and he can no longer distinguish between fantasy and reality. His only hope is to embrace the truth about his life and the responsibility of saving Otherworld or forever be lost.

Hilow has been working toward publication for two years while working full-time at a local insurance company and completing his writing studies with West Redding, CT-based LongRidge Writers Group. His background includes eight years as a business report for the Worcester Business Journal and a freelance writer for Worcester Magazine. His previous work includes "In Through the Outdoor," a collection of short stories.

"Dark Druid Rising" is available at Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle formats. More information about the book and the author is available at www.edhilow.com. To contact the author directly, send email to edwardhilow@gmail.com.
