Lewis last appeared as Broadway's first African-American 'Phantom' in The Phantom of the Opera. Among his past credits are The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess (which earned him a Tony nod in 2012), Sondheim on Sondheim, The Little Mermaid, Les Miserables, Amour, The Wild Party, Side Show, Chicago, The Who's Tommy and Miss Saigon. He has also appeared off-Broadway in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Dessa Rose, Children of Eden, Golden Boy at Encores!, Captains Courageous and A New Brain, as well as concert productions of Hair, Chess and Dreamgirls. On the small screen, Lewis portrayed 'Senator Edison Davis' in the drama series Scandal.
