"Girls" star and creator Lena Dunham appeared on last night's Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC and shared the story of how she was recently detained by TSA agents at LAX when the scanners detected a "weapon" in her purse at the security checkpoint.

"The only thing that got me out of it sane," the outspoken actress told host Meyers, "was thinking that this might be an OK talk-show story." Check out the appearance below!

ABOUT THE SHOW

Seth Meyers, who is "Saturday Night Live's" longest serving anchor on the show's wildly popular "Weekend Update," takes over as host of NBC's "Late Night" - home to A-list celebrity guests, memorable comedy and the best in musical talent.

As the Emmy Award-winning head writer for "SNL," Meyers has established a reputation for sharp wit and perfectly timed comedy, and has gained fame for his spot-on jokes and satire. Meyers takes his departure from "SNL" to his new post at "Late Night," as Jimmy Fallon moves to "The Tonight Show."

From Universal Television and Broadway Video, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" is executive produced by Lorne Michaels ("The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Saturday Night Live") and produced by Michael Shoemaker ("Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Saturday Night Live").
