Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington stopped by this morning's TODAY show on NBC to talk about their latest film '2 Guns.' Today host Savannah Guthrie asked the actors about their decision to take on a comedy this time around.

"I was coming off of the movie 'Flight,' which was not a comedy," explains Washington. "I was looking to do something lighter, have some fun!" Check out the appearance in full below!

2 GUNS, aosl starring Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Edward James Olmos and James Marsden, hits theaters on August 2. In the film, a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who have been tasked with investigating one another find they have been set up by the mob -- the very organization the two men believe they have been stealing money from.

Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, 2 GUNS is produced by Marc Platt, Randall Emmett, George Furla, Adam Siegel, Jeffrey Stott, Ross Richie, Andrew Cosby and Norton Herrick.
