Variety reports that Walmart will air a series of ads during NBC's highly anticipated live broadcast of PETER PAN LIVE! which will feature the iconic fairy Tinkerbell and other Peter Pan-themed concepts.

The chain store is among the lead sponsors of Thursday night's event and will feature ads that relate back to the scene that took place on the broadcast just prior to the commercial break. According to the report, all five of the spots will include Pan's fairy pal Tinkerbell, portrayed by a shimmering ray of light in the production.

Says NBCUniversal executive vice president of entertainment ad sales Dan Lovinger, "I think that the industry, and certainly America, is really falling in love with concepts like this. It's a great family event. It gives people the opportunity during the holidays to sit down together to watch a show that everyone can be comfortable with."

Lovinger shared that a 30-second spot during the broadcast will cost over $350,000. While he did not reveal the names of other advertisers for the event, he did say that they included spots from the restaurant, electronics, movie-studio and wireless industries.

In the Walmart ads, Melissa Joan Hart and her real-life family will be featured in scenes that "play off "Peter Pan" moments while also showcasing products available at Walmart." The ads will include Hart reading a bedtime story to her family clad in PJ's, playing with a Tinkerbell toy, making homemade cookies and reading "Peter Pan" to her kids while talking about growing up.

Last year, NBC's live broadcast of the musical "The Sound of Music" delivered over 18 million viewers. NBC has already revealed that its next live production, "The Music Man" will hit the air in 2015.

Allison Williams will portray Peter Pan in the highly anticipated PETER PAN LIVE on NBC.The 'Girls' star takes on the role of the boy who refuses to grow up and who is forced to confront the villainous Captain Hook, played by Oscar winner Christopher Walken when the J.M. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will executive produce the broadcast. The duo are accomplished in both television and film, having earned 103 Emmy nominations. They were the driving force behind several stage-to-screen musicals, including the film version of "Hairspray" and TV adaptation of "Cinderella," as well as executive producing the NBCdrama "Smash," which earned a Golden Globe nomination.
