Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Offers $5 Tix To Some Enchanted Evening

As a community service to its Rogers Park neighbors, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre is offering $5 walk-up tickets this weekend to anyone with a 60626 zip code for preview performances of "Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein." A limited number of tickets will be set aside for walk-ups showing a photo ID for Friday and Saturday performances at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m., March 11-13. Regular ticket price for preview performances is $15.

Opening night is 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 14. The regular run is March 17-April 30 with performances at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays; 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 p.m., Sundays. Doors open, dinner (optional) is served and the shuttle van starts 90 minutes prior to curtain. Tickets during the regular run are $25 and $30 for Saturdays.

Representing 10 musical theatre's classics of the 20th century, 36 songs will be presented by six singers and one baby grand piano in the intimate 60-seat setting of the No Exit Café in Rogers Park at 6970 N. Director is Fred Anzevino, Theo Ubique's Artistic Director, and music director is Austin Cook, who will also sing and play piano on his personal baby grand moved into the No Exit for the run of the show. Choreographer is Ben Mason.

Returning to the Theo Ubique stage are Dana Tretta and Jeremy Trager. Performing for the first time with Theo Ubique are Evan Tyrone Martin, Sara Schoch and Danni Smith in addition to Cook.

Free parking is available at the parking lot on the corner of Morse and Ravenswood with free transport on the Lifeline shuttle van to and from the lot. The No Exit Café is by the Morse stop on the Red Line. Special discounts will be offered through Theo Ubique eNews announcements, which are available by signing up through the web site.
