Theater Vet David Rasche Returns for Season 2 of TV Land's IMPASTOR

David Rasche will return to his role of Alden Schmidt, the president of Ladner Trinity Lutheran Church, in TV Land's IMPASTOR. The series returns for its second season on September 28th and tells the story of Buddy Dobbs (Michael Rosenbaum), a slacker on the run from a loan shark who steals a man's identity and ends up posing as a small town's new gay pastor.

Rasche is an American theater, film and television actor who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the title character in the 1980s satirical police sitcom, "Sledge Hammer!" His other television credits including recurring roles on "VEEP" and "Bored to Death" as well as "Miami Vice" and Monk." On the big screen, Rasche has starred in beloved films such as The Coen Brothers' "Burn After Reading," "Flight 93" "The Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood" and "In the Loop."

Rasche started his theater career as a member of Chicago's Second City improve group. On stage, Rasche was recently seen starring in "The Country House" alongside Blythe Danner. According to the Wall Street Journal, the production was "one of the most satisfying new American plays to reach Broadway in the past decade." Variety also singled out Rasche's performance as Walter as "riveting." Rasche's other Broadway credits include "Speed-the-Plow," "Lunch Hour," "Loose Ends" and "The Shadow Box." He also has starred in various off-Broadway productions including "Little Miss Sunshine," "Warrior Class," The Seagull," Edmond," and "Faust," among others.
