The 'New' McCree Theatre Presents A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS 12/17-19

Looking for a booster shot of the Holiday-Spirit variety? The "New" McCree Theatre, 5005 Cloverlawn Drive at Pierson Road, has just the right medicine. Get into the holiday spirit full-throttle as Mid-Michigan's most exciting theatre presents the holiday gala, A Soulful Christmas, by Charles H. Winfrey, December 17 - 19, 2009 with performances on Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

A Soulful Christmas is the story of a house party turned into an exercise into discovering the real meaning of Christmas. The festivities take place at the home of Mary and Joseph Jones, who invite a group of friends over prior to going to their children's Community Chorus concert. When the last couple arrives, the fun and frolic begins. The partygoers rhyme, free-verse, sing, and dance their way into a realization of what the Season truly means to them.

A Soulful Christmas is loaded with a variety of soulful holiday songs delivered by both the partygoers and the youth chorus. The cast features "New" McCree Theatre standouts like Marquawan Burnett, Whitney Frierson, Yemohni Jones, Tahirah Gaines, Leonard Nelson, Kathy Clarke, Corey Taylor, Karmen Williams, Eddie Lucas, Jon'Tise Samuels, and Tezell Morris. It is directed and choreographed by Cathy E. Johnson, with music directed by Phillip Young.

Advance tickets are $12.00 for adults and $7.00 for students and senior citizens. They can be purchased at www.buymccreetickets.com or at the theatre office located at 5005 Cloverlawn. At-the-door prices are $15.00 and $10.00. Discounted tickets can also be purchased at FM Financial Credit Union, 606 Stevens Street. Group rates are also available.
