The Directors Studio Extends MARION BRIDGE

Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, and sold-out performances every evening, The Directors Studio's presentation of Marion Bridge has been extended.

In her directorial debut, Laila Robins directs Marion Bridge by Daniel MacIvor, a story of three sisters' struggle to reconnect. Past longings are revealed, choices examined, and hope surfaces as they consider building a new life from fragments of the old.

Ms. Robins has appeared on Broadway in Heartbreak House, Frozen (Lucille Lortel nom.), The Herbal Bed, and The Real Thing. Other notable appearances include A Streetcar Named Desire at both the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago (Jefferson Award) and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Antony & Cleopatra and Sore Throats (Lucille Lortel nom.) at Theatre for a New Audience, the award-winning revival of Edward Albee's Tiny Alice at Second Stage and the Off-Broadway and National Tour of Mrs. Klein (Jefferson Award and Helen Hayes nom.) with Uta Hagen. Ms. Robins recently had the pleasure of working with renowned director John Doyle on Sarah Ruhl's translation of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters (Cincinnati Acclaim Award). Movies include Planes, Trains and Automobiles, The Good Shepherd, and the just released Loss of a Tear Drop Diamond. Recent television appearances include HBO's In Treatment and Bored to Death.
About The Directors Studio

The Directors Studio, is the developmental division of The Directors Company designed to support the work of exceptional emerging directors and their projects. The Studio also provides an invaluable arena for these directors to showcase their work to the public through various series, workshops and labs.

The Directors Company is a not-for-profit theatre company with a mission to develop and produce extraordinary new plays and musicals for the American theatre public, led by outstanding directorial talent. For over twenty years, The Directors Company has supported artists in the development of original theatre works from inception to production, providing artistic and dramaturgical guidance to promising new theatre artists and their projects. The Directors Company most recent production, Irena's Vow, appeared on Broadway Spring 2009.
