Talk Radio Star Womack Cast in Pilot of NBC Drama

Cornell Womack, who will be opening in TALK RADIO at the Longacre Theatre on March 11, has been cast as one of the series regulars on the NBC drama FORT PIT, and will shoot the pilot in New York City in the beginning of March.  Created by the team from the FX series RESCUE ME, FORT PIT is about NYC cops in the 74th Precinct which is plagued by corruption. Other series regulars include James Badge Dale, David Call, Dania Ramirez, Elias Koteas, Michael Rispoli, and Tony and Drama Desk Award Winner Viola Davis. 

Cornell has also returned to work on Denis Leary's series RESCUE ME in the recurring role of Richard, the older brother of Franco's (Daniel Sunjata) new love interest.  The 4th season premieres on FX on June 12, 2007.  

 

Cornell's past credits include:  Broadway – ON GOLDEN POND (Cort Theatre); Off-Broadway – YELLOWMAN (Manhattan Theatre Club); THUNDER KNOCKING ON THE DOOR (Minetta Lane Theatre); THE ODYSSEY (Theatre at St. Clements); MERCHANT OF VENICE (Public Theatre). Regional – A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM & TWELFTH NIGHT (Shakespeare Theatre); THE ODYSSEY (Arena Stage). TV – THE BLACK DONNELLYS, WATERFRONT, LAW & ORDER, L&O: CI, L&O: SVU, and CONVICTION.
