Broadwayworld.com was on hand when Producer Rosie O'Donnell introduced the press to Taboo a musical based on the colorful and ostentatious characters who influenced music and fashion during the early 1980s in London.

The new musical with original music and lyrics by and starring George O'Dowd (a.k.a. Boy George) begins previews on Broadway Friday, October 24, 2003 at the Plymouth Theatre.

Taboo Producer Rose O'Donnell introduces the show.

Raúl Esparza ('Phillip Sallon'), Liz McCartney ('Big Sue') and ensemble entertain with one of the show's upbeat numbers titled "Freak".

Euan Morton ('Boy George') was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance in the role of Boy George which he originated in London. Here he sings one of the musical's ballads "Stranger In This World".

Sarah Uriarte Berry ('Nicola') longs for the London nightlife as she sings "Safe In The City".

Liz McCartney ('Big Sue') delivers a moving rendition of the haunting ballad "Talk Amongst Yourselves".

Taboo star George O'Dowd, better known to most of us as Boy George plays Leigh Bowery. He also wrote the music, lyrics and original concept for the show.
