What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

I saw TIMBUKTU in Detroit. I fell in love with Eartha Kitt — but had no interest in ever doing Broadway.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Loud music in my ears … anything from Prince to Gershwin!

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

It's a tie… either for doing DREAMGIRLS on my wedding night , or doing CHICAGO 30 minutes after having a root canal!

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

Before I die I want to play Norma Desmond… or Mame.

Who is your Broadway crush and why?

It is, was, and will always be Gregory Hines. Or Ben Vereen.
