ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) is now accepting submissions for the ASCAP Deems Taylor Awards Competition for books, articles, liner notes, broadcasts and websites on the subject of music. The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2011.

The ASCAP Deems Taylor Awards program recognizes books, articles, liner notes, broadcasts and websites on the subject of music selected for their excellence. The subject matter may be biographical or critical, reportorial or historical - almost any form of nonfiction prose about music and/or its creators. However, instructional textbooks, how-to-guides, or works of fiction will not be accepted. Paperbacks that were originally published in hardcover are not eligible. Reprints or translations of works that were previously published outside the United States that are now being published in the United States for the first time are eligible. Program notes, recording liner notes and on-line publications are also eligible.
