The week of November 2 - 7 will be Literacy Week at the Staten Island Children's Museum. 

The following is the schedule of events: 

November 2 - Election Day

Northfield Bank Foundation - Cool School Holiday
Vote for your favorite kids movie.
Free Admission

A Family Literacy Weekend - November 6 & 7

Family Literacy Day
Saturday, November 6, 12-4 p.m.
Interactive family activities, refreshments and special guest readers abound at this celebration of the joy of reading - with a green twist. Board the famous Hi Tech Bio Bus. Create recycled art. Listen to "green" songs!
Sponsored by the Staten Island Reading Association.

4th Annual Book Swap

Bring a gently used book and swap it for a new one.

On Weekdays, Walk-In! Workshop programs on Wednesday & Thursday are free with Museum admission. Wednesday is Clay Day and Thursday is Paint Day.


While at the Museum, families can visit hands-on, fabulous interactive exhibits: Block Harbor, The Big Game, Bugs and Other Insects, Great Explorations, Portia's Playhouse, Sea of Boats, Ladder 11, D.B.'s Fantastic Machines & House About It! and more!

For more information and directions, please contact the SI Children's Museum at (718) 273-2060. Museum Hours are usually noon - 5 p.m. when NYC public schools are open and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. when NYC public schools are closed (including weekends).

Admission is $6 per person; children under 1 and members are admitted free. Grandparents are admitted free on Wednesdays. The SI Children's Museum is located on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace, just minutes away from the Clove Road exit off the Staten Island Expressway. There is ample free parking and convenient access via public transportation on the S40 bus from the Ferry Terminal.
