South Bend Civic Theatre presents an all-new take on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Adapted by local playwright Jim Geisel, this highly original interpretation presents a sinister acting troupe taking on the legendary story with ingenious theatrical devices and tricks. This world premiere production of Frankenstein will amaze and thrill audiences as they witness a new chapter in the story of SBCT.

Created through a series of workshops, readings, and design experiments, Frankenstein is part of SBCT's effort to shepherd new works as part of its mission to engage and develop original material for the community. SBCT is committed to exploring the potential role of new theatre pieces in future seasons.

Frankenstein performs in SBCT's Wilson Theatre, 403 N. Main Street, South Bend, IN. October 17-November 2, 2014. Show times are 7:30 PM Wednesdays-Saturdays, and 2:00 PM on Sundays. Ticket prices are $18 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; and $15 Wednesday and Thursday. To purchase tickets, call the SBCT Box Office at 574-234-1112 or online sbct.org.

SBCT is also premiering a haunted house attraction, "The House of Frightenstein," an immersive theatrical experience based around the story of Frankenstein. Patrons may purchase a discounted ticket of $10 (regular price $15) for the haunted house with their ticket to Frankenstein, and even take in the scares after the show! SBCT's "House of Frightenstein" opens October 11 and runs Wednesdays through Sundays throughout October.

Due to the running of SBCT's Haunted House during the run of Frankenstein, patrons are advised to enter the parking lot by heading east on Marion Street and turning left into the lot immediately behind the Scottish Rite building. For questions regarding parking, please call the SBCT Box Office 574-234-1112.
