Shia LaBeouf Rides in Elevator for 24 Hours for Performance Art Piece #ELEVATE

According to Variety, Shia LaBeouf's latest performance art piece is called #ELEVATED. The performance began yesterday at 9 AM (GMT) and continued for 24 hours, entailing LaBeouf riding in a stationary elevator for those 24 hours. He and his artistic collaborators, Luke Turner and Nastja Sade Ronkko, invited visitors to come and talk about whatever they wanted.

During the performance, LaBeouf said, "How do we do this and not feel douchey about it? "How do we make this egalitarian like the Internet? Let's just move the talk to the elevator."

LaBeouf began his career in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens, for which he received a Daytime Emmy Award, and with his film debut in Holes (2003), based on the novel of the same name by Louis Sachar. In 2004, he made his directorial debut with the short film Let's Love Hate and later directed and shot the music video for "I Never Knew You" by rapper Cage.

In 2007, LaBeouf starred as the lead in the commercially successful films, Disturbia, Transformers and Surf's Up. His other films include Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008),Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011).
