BroadwayWorld has learned that Samuel French, the world's premier theatrical publishing and licensing company, has landed the performance rights of the ground-breaking hit musical Fun Home, winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, Fun Home features music by Jeanine Tesori with book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, the first all-female writing team to win the Tony for musical score.

"Fun Home is that rare musical that pushes the theatrical envelope," says Bruce Lazarus, Executive Director, Samuel French. "We are proud that the authors have chosen Samuel French to bring their vision to a wider audience."

Fun Home opened at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre on April 19th, 2015 where it has broken box office records and has won five Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction, and Best Performance of an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. Fun Home initially opened in a limited, sold-out run at The Public Theater in 2014, and was also named as a finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The official Acting Edition is now available for purchase on the Samuel French website at www.SamuelFrench.com. Additionally, Alison Bechdel's underlying graphic novel and the Broadway cast recording are also available for purchase. A vocal selections book and sheet music of selected songs from Fun Home are forthcoming.
