Broadway will come to Rutgers University when its Mason Gross School of the Arts hosts a one-day musical theatre intensive, "You Need To Be On Broadway", on March 2, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The intensive will include master classes led by Tony Award nominee Michael McElroy and assistant choreographer of Broadway's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying Charlie Williams.

You Need To Be On Broadway aims to support performers with beneficial training and the practical skills needed to excel professionally in the competitive industry of musical theater.

Master Classes and Instructors Include:

Vocal Technique & Stage Performance: Michael McElroy, Tony nominee, two-time Drama Desk nominee, musical theater coach on the PBS television show Broadway or Bust, and professor at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University

Jazz & Theatre Dance: Charlie Williams, Assistant Choreographer of Broadway's How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and former NBC Television Host/ Correspondent

Acting Technique: Jordan Spoon, Acclaimed actress and Mason Gross School of the Arts Acting Professor

The Mason Gross School of the Arts Extension Division offers artistic training opportunities with distinguished teaching artists to students of all ages at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
