Tony Award-winning Broadway headliner and acclaimed August Wilson interpreter Ruben Santiago-Hudson recently participated in a TEDx Talk as part of a special series held at his alma mater, Binghamton University, earlier this year, and a video of the inspirational speech is now available to view.

"What you see and hear about me is my successes - and people think that's what I'm built on; all the things I have achieved. I am equally built on all the things I failed at," Hudson imparts.

"I am equally built on all the nos that I received that inspired me to work harder - that inspired me to want to prove more, not to anyone but myself, that I was worthy, that I did measure up, that I did count, that I did matter," Hudson eloquently states in the speech.

The official description of Ruben Santiago Hudson's TEDx Talk at Binghamton University is as follows: "Ruben Santiago-Hudson earned his bachelor of arts degree from Binghamton University and a master of fine arts degree from Wayne State University, and holds an honorary doctorate from Buffalo State College. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)."
