On Sunday night, Warner/Chappell husband-and-wife songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez won the Academy Award for "Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song)," in recognition of "Let it Go" from Disney's Frozen. With this win, Lopez joins an exclusive list of just 12 other individuals who have each won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards in competitive categories. He is the youngest person ever to have earned all four awards, and did so in just 10 years.
Jon Platt, President, North America, Warner/Chappell Music, said, "Bobby and Kristen are beyond deserving of this award, and everyone at Warner/Chappell is thrilled that their talent and creativity have been recognized with one of the highest honors a songwriter can receive. We're very proud of their continued success." "Bobby and Kristen are a tremendously gifted duo and it has been incredibly exciting to watch their songwriting career grow to new heights with every passing year," said Sean Patrick Flahaven, Senior Vice President, Theatre & Catalog Development, Warner/Chappell Music. "We'd also like to give special congratulations to Bobby for his entry into the EGOT club. This is a monumental achievement, and we're extremely happy to have both Bobby and Kristen in the Warner/Chappell family." The Platinum-certified soundtrack album for Frozen-which includes six songs published by Warner/Chappell Music in its Deluxe edition-recently hit another milestone with its 5th week spent at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. It was also recently announced that the film, which officially grossed more than $1B in worldwide box office sales, is the most successful non-sequel-and the second-most successful overall-animated film ever.Videos
