In celebration of Women's History month, Riverspace is pleased to host the premiere of the Goddess on Earth installation with an opening reception on Saturday, March 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The culmination of a six-year project by Nyack photographer Lisa Levart, Goddess on Earth is a collection of more than seventy stunning, evocative photographic images of women in which each is portrayed as the goddess who most deeply reflects and gives meaning to her life.

The Riverspace café will be transformed to house the multimedia installation that celebrates the strength, self-esteem and wholeness of contemporary women and girls. An empowering, feminist sanctuary emerges out of a collage of moving and still projections, international music and the women's recorded voices as they reflect on the feminine divine.

Working with women of all ages, Levart has captured evocative contemporary interpretations of know and little known goddesses from many countries and cultures including Native American, China, Egypt, Greece, Hawaii, Scandinavia, India, Ireland, Sumerian, Japan and Tibet. Collectively these portraits convey the resonant and multifaceted manifestations of the feminine spirit.

"Riverspace strives to provide a wide range of entertainment, and artistic and educational offerings that speak to our diverse community. We are thrilled to host Lisa's spectacular premier!" said Dara Falco, Managing Director.

A sampling of the more than seventy women whose photographs will appear in Goddess on Earth include Olympia Dukakis, actress; Karen Allen, actress; Jodie Evans. Activist; Isabel Allende, author; Shirley Knight, actress; Starhawk, author, activist.

The Goddess on Earth installation opens on March 7 and closes on March 28 in participation and celebration of SWAN DAY; Support Women Arts Now Day and will then travel to women's festivals worldwide.

Exhibition hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., 2 hours prior to performance time and by appointment.

Be one of the first to view this amazing show that will inspire viewers to embrace their own sacredness and be moved to express their own individuality and spiritual selves in their daily lives.
