DanceBreak 2007, a showcase for Broadway's next generation of choreographers, was held on February 12 at the New World Stages complex to a capacity crowd of industry professionals. The DanceBreak Foundation selected six choreographers: Kelly Devine, Linda Goodrich, Stas' Kmiec', CJay Philip, Josh Prince and Paul Stancato, whose work was presented for Broadway producers, directors and national theater organizations.

Original choreography from the musicals Grand Hotel, Oklahoma, Once Upon A Mattress, The Wild Party, The Wiz, and Zorba were shown as part of the "Musical Theater" section; the second segment featured pieces encompassing each choreographer's individual style.

Among those in attendance were directors Walter Bobbie, Scott Schwartz, Gabriel Barre, Scott C. Embler; producers Andrew Asnes, Robyn Goodman, Adam Zotovich; and representatives from the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, Disney Theatricals, the Nederlander Organization, Dodger Theatricals, the Schubert Organization, Cameron Mackintosh Limited, the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, production companies, agencies and theaters including Lincoln Center Theater, Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, La Jolla Playhouse, North Shore Music Theater, the Acting Company, Second Stage, Amas Musical Theatre, Ballet Hispanico, and The Metropolitan Opera, among others.

Now entering its sixth year, DanceBreak cultivates a new generation of Broadway choreographers, giving them the opportunity to strut their stuff in a series of showcase performances before an invited audience of industry leaders, Broadway producers and directors. As a direct result of the program's exposure, DanceBreak choreographers have signed their first Broadway contract and gone on to garner four Drama Desk nominations, three Outer Critics Circle nominations, and three Tony Award nominations.
