Get ready for music, mayhem and laughs as Desert Star Playhouse takes on America’s Number One TV show in its latest original parody. “American Fork Idol” opens March 26th at the theater known for it’s hilarious family-friendly comedies.

Written by Bethany Knighton and Ben E. Millet and directed by Scott Holman, “American Fork Idol”
is the story of a sweet, sheltered girl from American Fork who wins a spot on the nation’s most popular singing contest, America’s Next Hollywood Pop Superstar! Her toughest competition is a bad boy rocker with a smile that makes her weak in the knees. But, when the competition heats up, will it get in the way of their blossoming romance? And can the two of them keep from being eliminated from the show in a string of unusual accidents that has plagued contestants?

“American Fork Idol” is the second show of Desert Star’s 2009 Season. The theatre known for zany
musical parodies has planned a full year of madcap merriment. Season tickets are still available and may be purchased by calling the box office at (801) 266-2600.

“American Fork Idol” runs from March 26 to June 6, 2009. The evening also includes one of Desert
Star’s signature musical olios following the show. The “Love Is In The Air” olio features classic and
contemporary songs about love mixed with more of Desert Star’s signature comedy.

Food is available from an á la carte menu and is served right at your table. The menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh wraps, appetizers, and scrumptious desserts.
