When Manhattan Theatre Club presented two-time Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens' HEISENBERG this past spring, director Mark Brokaw's production played at the intimate Off-Broadway space, Stage II at New York City Center.

But with a transfer to Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, it was up to scenic designer Mark Wendland to preserve that intimacy. At today's first rehearsal, the company was presented with the set model below that provides for an abundance of arena-style on-stage seating.

The Manhattan Theatre Club critically acclaimed Broadway transfer of Heisenberg stars Tony and Emmy Award winner Mary-Louise Parker and Denis Ardnt. Previews start Tuesday, September 20 and opening night is Thursday, October 13 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, Georgie (Mary-Louise Parker) spots Alex (Denis Arndt), a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounter thrusts these two strangers into a fascinating and life-changing game. Directed by Drama Desk Award winner Mark Brokaw (THE LYONS, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE), HEISENBERG brings to blazing, theatrical life the uncertain and often comical sparring match that is human connection.
