Following the success of their concert performances and subsequent recording of Bernstein's West Side Story, Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Fransisco Symphony will present Leonard Bernstein's musical On the Town May 25-29. The concert production will feature the talents of many of the 2014-15 Broadway revival cast, including: David Garrison and Tyne Daly (narrators), Clyde Alves (Ozzie), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Chip), Tony Yazbeck (Gabey), Megan Fairchild (Ivy), Alysha Umphress (Hildy), Isabel Leonard (Claire), Shuler Hensley (Pitkin)

With lyrics and book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, the show is based on the Jerome Robbins balletFancy Free (1944), and opened on Broadway that same year. MTT and the SFS first performed On the Town at Davies Symphony Hall in 1995 in performances that featured Thomas Hampson, Tyne Daly, as well as Comden and Green.

Ticket information is available through the San Francisco Symphony web site at www.sfsymphony.org/subscribe, through the SFS Patron Services Office at 415-864-6000, and at the Davies Symphony Hall Box Office, on Grove Street between Van Ness Avenue and Franklin Street in San Francisco.

The Tony Award nominated revival of On The Town concluded its run on Broadway on September 6, 2015, following 28 previews and 368 regular performances, making it the longest-running Broadway production of the show since the 1944 original. ON THE TOWN began previews on September 20, 2014 and officially opened on October 16, 2014 at the Lyric Theatre.
