The movie tells the life story of the 'Godfather of Soul' James Brown (Chadwick Boseman) and chronicles his rise to fame, his struggles with drug addiction, his arrest for domestic violence and his financial difficulties. Eversman will play Mick Jagger during a concert at which Brown flies off the handle.

Eversman will act alongside Dan Aykroyd, Jill Scott and Boseman. Aykroyd will play Ben Bart, president of Universal Attractions, which represented Brown for more than 40 years. Scott will play Brown's wife. Also in the cast are Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Lennie James.

Eversman currently appears in a recurring role on The CW's Tomorrow People. He has also appeared on TV in NBC's Missing and will next appear in the feature film Wild, opposite Reese Witherspoon, as well as the movies A Reason, Victor and Home.
