Nic Bishop ("Body of Proof") has been tapped to join USA Network's globe-trotting hit espionage series, COVERT AFFAIRS, opposite Golden Globe®-nominated Piper Perabo ("Looper"), Christopher Gorham ("Ugly Betty"), Hill Harper ("CSI: NY"), Kari Matchett ("Invasion") and Peter Gallagher ("The O.C."). The series, produced by Universal Cable Productions, films in Toronto and will span 16 episodes when it returns this summer for its fifth season.

Bishop joins as a series regular and will play Ryan McQuaid. Handsome, magnetic and charming, this former Navy SEAL turned private contractor billionaire is a man of action. McQuaid and Annie (Perabo) first meet in the field as uneasy allies, but as their relationship intensifies so will Annie's fears that McQuaid may have a secret agenda.

Season five of the series picks up after CIA operative Annie fakes her death, alters her identity and goes deep undercover in the streets of Hong Kong to defeat her most cunning opponent, Henry Wilcox (guest star Gregory Itzin). The new season will examine the price Annie will have to pay for this risky maneuver and the implications it will have on her relationships - both personally and professionally - as she attempts to re-emerge into the world she once knew.

Bishop's career has spanned television, film and theater. He is perhaps best known for his role on the television series, "Body of Proof." Additional television credits include "CSI," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Hot in Cleveland," "Necessary Roughness" and the Australian series, "Fat Tony & Co." Film credits include "Black Limousine," "Punishment," "Walking on Water" and the upcoming films "Stay Then Go" and "The Mentor." Bishop has taken to the stage with productions including "Hamlet," "Macbeth," and "Othello," and is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Australia. He is represented by Management 360, UTA and Linsten Morris in Australia.

From Universal Cable Productions, Covert Affairs is created, written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and is executive produced by Doug Liman (SUITS, the "Bourne" trilogy, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith"), David Bartis (SUITS, "The O.C.") and Gene Klein (SUITS) through Hypnotic. Stephen Kay ("Sons of Anarchy"), Sean Ryerson ("Bait," "Beyond Rangoon"), Stephen Hootstein ("What About Brian") and Henry Alonso Myers ("Ugly Betty," "Chuck") also serve as executive producers.
