NYC Parks transformed Central Park into one of the country's largest urban adventure playgrounds this weekend. Drawing 30,000 New Yorkers, The 12th annual Adventures NYC, presented by Citi, hosted outdoor enthusiasts of all ages as they enjoyed an array of free outdoor adventures including rock climbing, a military style obstacle course, standup paddle boarding, kayaking, and much more. NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP, joined Allyson Schlesinger, Market President, Citi and City Council Member Ben Kallos to welcome the annual event.

"Adventures NYC provides New Yorkers an opportunity to tap into the adventurous spirit that lives within all of us," said Commissioner Silver. "The city's largest urban adventure playground, this event inspires everyone to stay active, challenge themselves to try something new, and develop a strong appreciation for the natural world. All while making memories in one of our city's greatest green spaces."

Additional sponsors include Adidas, Zappos, Clif Bar, Vita Coco, Ski Vermont, Smugglers' Notch Resort, Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, I Love NY, Honest Tea, Cabot, NY Knicks, NY Liberty and Whole Foods Market.
