Met Museum to Host Multicultural Gala: An Evening of Many Cultures Tonight

The Metropolitan Museum of Art will host an evening of dinner and dancing to honor leaders who have worked on behalf of diverse communities to further the arts and encourage cultural growth.

The Multicultural Gala: An Evening of Many Cultures will include a cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party with musical performances throughout the night. The event helps raise funds for the Museum's Multicultural Audience Development Initiative (MADI).

Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Cookie Johnson, Estrellita Brodsky, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and the Sau-Wing Lam family will be honored. The Dance Party, with music by D-Nice, will be hosted by Rosie Perez (Dance Chair), Estelle (Vice Chair) and LION BABE (Vice Chair).

The gala is set for tonight, Monday, September 23, 2013. Cocktails: 6:30 p.m. Dinner: 7:30 p.m. Dance party: 8:30-11:00 p.m. It all takes place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street, NYC.

Tickets - Dinner ticket (includes cocktail hour and dance party): prices begin at $1,500. Dance ticket: $150 for current Museum Members; or $250 for non-members- including a Museum Membership at the Individual level.
