Today, Sister Act has been announced as the second show of the much-anticipated 57th season at Maine State Music Theatre. Sister Act will run from June 24 to July 11 at Pickard Theater, located at 1 Bath Road on the Bowdoin College campus.

Prior to this announcement the identity of the show was kept under wraps due to a licensing agreement.

"Sister Act combines heart and joy to create musical theatre magic on stage," says Artistic Director, Curt Dale Clark, "the performances will knock your socks off."

Sister Act is the feel-amazing musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film that has audiences jumping to their feet! Featuring original music by TONY and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for 5 TONY Awards including Best Musical.

Filled with uplifting gospel music, outrageous comedy and dancing, and a truly moving story, Sister Act will leave audiences breathless. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is reason to REJOICE!

The announcement of Sister Act completes MSMT's four-show "Season of Smiles". The 2015 summer kicks off June 3 through June 20 with the heartwarming comedy, The Full Monty.
