From the time of its institution, Christianity has had a history of change; from the number of churches practicing different forms of Christianity to the ways in which people practice the Christian faith, the changes have been both big and small. Author and former county jail pastor M. Alberto Zelaya Aragon aims to return Christianity to a personal experience - as he believes God would have it - a perspective he supports in his new book, "Our Real Life in Christ: Experiencing the Life and Quality of Faith Provided by Jesus Christ to Overcome Any Obstacle in Our Lives" (published by iUniverse).

Aragon encourages readers to abandon what he calls "churchianity," and take responsibility for what the Bible says God wants followers to do on a personal level, as opposed to what churches believe people should do.

"God came to transform us and establish His Kingdom in our hearts and not merely to be a member in a church," Aragon says. "There is an abysmal difference between the life of a new creation and that of a 'sinner saved by grace.'"

Aragon is hopeful that "Our Real Life in Christ" will help readers and followers of Christianity return to what he believes is the traditional practice of the faith

"My book challenges the status quo," Aragon begins, "and exposes organized religion as more of an enterprise rather than a spiritual source that can actually meet the needs of its followers."
