In "Sacred Ground" (published by iUniverse), author Linda Lazore's new novel, readers watch as a group of friends stick together as they explore the supernatural world of Native American culture.

"Surviving high school is a bizarre enough experience for most kids," says Lazore. "For Emma Niles, that's only one of her challenges." Readers join Emma as she is moving into her senior year. As she tries to get her derailed life back on track, she finds that she can always count on her friends for help.

One day a tall, dark mysterious man enrolls at her school, and steals her heart. That is, until Alexis, Emma's best friend, tells her about the darkness behind his beautiful face. Alexis is a gifted Native American psychic. When Alexis invites her and their other friends to take part in a sacred fire ceremony to learn about this new student's true intentions, Emma learns that she too holds power. Will the group of friends be able to stop the new student or will their friendship falter?

"I hope readers gain a little understanding regarding Native American culture and life through the book," says Lazore. "They should not be feared as Hollywood has pointed them to be."
