Deadline writes that stage vet and GLEE star Lea Michele will appear opposite supermodel Kate Upton in William H. Macy's trip comedy film THE LAYOVER. Macy will also appear in the movie.

From a script by David Hornsby and Lance Krall, THE LAYOVER follows "a pair of lifelong best friends who decide to avoid their problems by taking a vacation only to find that their plane has been rerouted due to a hurricane warning. To make matters worse, the two friends find themselves battling for the same guy during an extended layover in St. Louis."

Michele just finished her run in Ryan Murphy's musical comedy series GLEE and will reunite with him for FOX's new show SCREAM QUEENS. She made her Broadway debut in LES MISERABLES and went on to appear in RAGTIME, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and SPRING AWAKENING, for which she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.

Upton last appeared on the big screen in THE OTHER WOMAN, THE THREE STOOGES and TOWER HEIST.

Macy, who directed an episode of SHAMELESS, as well as the film RUDDERLESS and the upcoming movie KRYSTAL, last starred on Broadway in SPEED-THE-PLOW. The actor made his debut in OUR TOWN. He founded the St. Nicholas Theater Company with David Mamet in 1971, which led to him originating roles in and directing several of Mamet's premieres. Macy has starred on the big screen in BOBBY, SEABISCUIT, MAGNOLIA, PLEASANTVILLE, BOOGIE NIGHTS, PSYCHO, FARGO and more.
