The King's Head Theatre announced today that theatre producer James Seabright will succeed John Dauth as Chair of the Board with effect from 01 October 2016.

Adam Spreadbury-Maher, Artistic Director of the King's Head Theatre, said: 'I'm thrilled and honoured that James Seabright - published author, award-winning producer and Godfather of the fringe - has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees at the King's Head Theatre. He brings with him a wealth of experience at the coalface producing exciting and unforgettable theatre. I am fully confident the King's Head is on course for an even brighter future with James as our new Chair."

James Seabright commented: '"I'm delighted to be joining the board of the King's Head Theatre as its new Chair. I have admired the great programme of work that Adam Spreadbury-Maher has developed at the venue in his tenure to date, together with pioneering initiatives with Equity towards fair rates of pay for those working on the fringe. I look forward to supporting him and his team in building on their successes both at their Upper Street home, and elsewhere - as productions set off on tour around the country and the world."

James is an Olivier Award winning theatrical producer and general manager. Current Productions include The Boys In The Band (Park), Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (Lyric), Trainspotting (Vaults), Potted Panto (Garrick) and Potted Potter (world tour). Past productions include Eric and Little Ern (Vaudeville & St James), Our Boys (Duchess), Simon Callow in The Man Jesus (UK tour) and over 200 productions at the Edinburgh Fringe. He is on the board of the League of Independent Producers, sits on the bursary panel of Stage One, is an associate of Wilton's Music Hall and a member of the Society of London Theatre.

The King's Head Theatre is London's first and foremost pub theatre and is led by Artistic Director, Adam Spreadbury-Maher. New writing, revivals, musicals, opera, cabaret and queer work sit side by side in an unashamedly eclectic programme of work. Thanks to an in-house agreement with Equity, we're leading the way when it comes to ethical employment on the fringe whilst our resident trainee director's scheme continues to provide comprehensive, vocational training to the rising stars of tomorrow. With high profile co-productions, national touring and transfers to and from the biggest arts festivals in the world, we're certainly not slowing down.
