Tony-nominated composer Paul Gordon makes his New York
nightclub debut at Joe's Pub with an evening featuring an eclectic selection of
his pop and theatre songs including several from his five-time Tony-nominated
Broadway musical Jane Eyre. The show takes place on Monday, October 15 at
9:30PM at Joe's Pub.
Scheduled to perform are Lianne Marie Dobbs (Emma), Melissa Dye (Into the Woods), Sara Farb (Original Toronto production of Jane Eyre), Brian D'Arcy James (Titanic,Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Richard Kind (TV's "Spin City," The Producers), Jason Kravits (The Drowsy Chaperone), Sarah Litzsinger
(Evita, Tastiskank), Dani Marcus (Emma), Jayne Patterson (Jane Eyre), Travis Poelle (Emma), Kate Reinders (Wicked, Gypsy), Marla Schaffel (Tony nominated for Jane Eyre) and Jennifer Waiser (The
Pirate Queen).
Gordon's Jane Eyre
(co-written with John Caird) ran on Broadway in 2001 where it was nominated for
five Tony Awards including Best Musical.
Tony-nominated for playing the title role, Marla Schaffel will again
sing a few of the show's signature songs.
The concert will also feature selections from: Gordon's Emma, which recently had its world
premiere at Theaterworks in Palo Alto, California where it became the highest
grossing show in the theatre's 38-year history; Daddy-Long-Legs, his latest collaboration with director John Caird;
and The Front (Music and Lyrics by
Paul Gordon and Jay Gruska, Book by Seth Friedman), based on the 1976 film
about the Hollywood Blacklist, which had it's first reading at Manhattan
Theatre Club in April. This concert at
Joe's Pub will feature the first public performance of many songs from these
shows.
The evening is directed by Nell Balaban (The Front) with musical direction by
Laura Bergquist, and produced by Jayson Raitt.
Cover is $25 plus a 2 drink minimum or $12 food minimum per
