Peninsula Players Theatre, in conjunction with its production of the magical and hilarious "Peter and the Starcatcher" by Rick Elice, will host a pre-show seminar Thursday, July 13 starting at 6:30 p.m. "Peter and the Starcatcher" is based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson with music by Wayne Barker and is a grown-up prequel to the legendary Peter Pan. Harter Clingman, who portrays Smee, will host a discussion in the theater before the July 13 performance.

Clingman will discuss the process/experience of a being on the national theatrical tour. He will also share how rehearsals of the play at Peninsula Players differed from the tour as well has his role as an associate director of the Players' production. Tickets to the July 13 performance are available. Admission to the pre-show seminar is free.

"Harter Clingman made his Peninsula Players' debut a few seasons ago in a play in which the audience got to hear him sing a few bars of song," Vinkler said. "Harter was supposed to also perform in the musical that season but was cast in the national tour of 'Peter and the Starcatcher' and left us earlier than planned to start rehearsal. Last season's audiences lovEd Harter's performance in 'The Full Monty' and 'Alabama Story' and we are thrilled that he and other great singers and comedians are cast in this hilarious adventure and backstory of Peter Pan."

Clingman portrayed Alf in the First Broadway National Tour of "Peter and the Starcatcher." Recent Chicago credits include: "The Tempest" (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), "Sweeney Todd" (Paramount Theater), "Crazy For You" (Drury Lane Oakbrook), "The Producers" and "The Addams Family" (Mercury Theater Chicago) and "Troila and Cressida" (Back Room Shakespeare). Harter has also worked with The Steppenwolf Garage Rep, The Gift Theatre, Marriott Theater-Lincolnshire, Bailiwick Chicago, Griffin Theater and The Steppenwolf 1700.
