Hump Night of the Iguana is a new comedy variety show.

Yes, there will be hi-jinks aplenty every Wednesday night from 8-11pm. starting March 4th at the Iguana VIP Lounge (upstairs) 240 West 54th Street & Broadway NYC.

There will be 3-4 featured performers each night as well as drop in guest artists. Standup comedians like the hysterical Tom Shillue of Comedy Central, and Tom Leopold of Seinfeld will be mixed in with singer-songwriters like folk goddess, Christine Lavin and newcomer Valerie Eskridge. NYCity Slickers, a fabulous bluegrass band, will get your feet stomping one minute and jazz singers, like Terese Geneco, Sue Matsuki, Shayne Rainbolt and Elizabeth! will have your fingers popping the next.

But you need not be a pro to share the limelight. Every night will include a joke contest, affectionaly dubbed the "The Circle Joke Off".

With a low recession-proof cover of only $10/no minimum make this one of the best values in town. The cuisine at Iguana is Tex-Mex and they feature dozens of flavors of wickedly deceptive margaritas.

Here are some of the guests for our opening night Wednesday, March 4th.

Tom Shillue of Comedy Central and the Daily Show will kick off the first night with his acerbic wit.
He has appeared on Comedy Central Presents, Conan O'Brien, NBC's Late Friday, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Valerie Eskridge
Oklahoma-born singer/songwriter who spends her nights in New York City giving auditory soul-massages with her original music, blending influences from folk to blues to pop to jazz to classical to Celtic; from Tracy Chapman to Sarah McLachlan; from the Beatles to Bob Marley. Come hear this fresh new voice.
Guests for the following week, March 11th, include:
Christine Lavin, Sue Matsuki, Elizabeth!

There will be No Humping, No Iguanas, No Naughty Priests.
Okay, maybe one naughty priest.
But defiantly... No Naughty Priests Humping Iguanas.
