Production is underway on HGTV's newest series, The Jennie Garth Project. Scheduled to premiere in June 2014, the series follows single mom and actress Jennie Garth, star of Beverly Hills, 90210, as she renovates a dated Hollywood Hills, Calif. house for herself and her three kids. The 10 half-hour episodes are produced by Departure Films. In addition to overhauling her home, the busy mom will release her first memoir, Deep Thoughts from a Hollywood Blonde on March 4, as well as star in a new ABC Family series, Mystery Girls.

"I've remodeled several homes, but this is the first one that I've done completely on my own," said Jennie, who will be very hands-on during the renovation. "I'm tired of over paying people to do things; I can do it myself."

During the series, Jennie and her contractor work together to transform an entire home while managing the budget-conscious mom's renovation expenses. To save money, Jennie plans to refinish the old kitchen and bathroom cabinets and cranks up a chainsaw to clear the brush and small trees from her property. The series features a whole-home renovation, including the kids' bedrooms, master bedroom and the living room.
