Frost/Nixon, the new play by Oscar nominated and Golden Globe-winning writer Peter Morgan and directed by Tony Award-nominee Michael Grandage, had its best week ever grossing $566,562 for the week ending August 12. Starring three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella as President Richard Nixon and Michael Sheen (The Queen) as Sir David Frost, the production will play its final performance this Sunday, August 19 to begin filming on the Frost/Nixon movie.

For his portrayal of Richard Nixon in Frost/Nixon, Frank Langella received 2007 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. The producers recently announced that the production recouped its entire $2.5 million capitalization. A national US tour is planned for Fall 2008.

Frost/Nixon is playing its final week at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street). In addition to Langella and Sheen, the cast features Remy Auberjonois (John Birt); Shira Gregory (Evonne Goolagong); Roxanna Hope (Caroline Cushing); Corey Johnson (Jack Brennan); Stephen Kunken (Jim Reston); Stephen Rowe (Swifty Lazar/Mike Wallace); Triney Sandoval (Manolo Sanchez); Armand Schultz (Bob Zelnick).

The production transferred to London's West End following a sold-out run at the Donmar Warehouse. Prior to coming to Broadway, the production played at the Gielgud Theatre through February 3, 2007.

"How was it that a famous British talk-show host, with a playboy reputation, was the one to elicit the apology that the rest of the world was waiting to hear from a former U.S. President?," state press notes.  "This fast paced new play, Frost/Nixon, takes audiences into the minds of Richard Nixon and David Frost and shows the determination, conviction and lengths that these two men and their closest confidantes went to as they took the stage in one of the most hard fought political interviews in history."

Frost/Nixon is produced on Broadway by Arielle Tepper Madover, Matthew Byam Shaw, Robert Fox and Act Productions; David Binder, Debra Black, Annette Niemtzow/Harlene Freezer & The Weinstein Company.

Tickets are available by calling Telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200, (800) 432-7250 outside the NY metro area, online at Telecharge.com, and at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre box office (242 West 45th Street).

Ticket prices for all performances are $36.50, $76.50 and $96.50. All prices include a $1.50 facility fee. Subject to availability, rush tickets are sold on the day of the performance when the box office opens, to any student who holds a valid ID as well as a valid government issue ID.
